About me

I am a PhD student in Statistics under the supervision of Kurt Hornik at the Institute for Statistics and Mathematics at Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Vienna). My research focuses on statistical methods for high-dimensional and complex data. In particular, I am interested in and working on

  1. non-parametric statistical inference (conditional independence tests) in complex data settings;
  2. relating non-parametric tests to semi-parametric models to enhance interpretation;
  3. extensions to penalized regression methods;
  4. user-friendly and efficient implementations of these methods (mainly in R).

Another important aspect for me and my research is the applicability of methods to real-world problems. I am particularly interested in sports and mainly apply my work to high-dimensional spatio-temporal sports data.
